Derek Frost's pieces are highly sculptural; often influenced by natural objects and the Orient.

He says "I love sculpture. For me furniture design is a way of playing at being a sculptor in my own medium. The technical process of making furniture fascinates me. I'm interested in designs that are incredibly testing of the craftsmen. Fine materials, colours and textural juxtapositions overlay their sculptural forms. Purity of line conceals much of the complexity of my designs."
